CE – Design Engineering Solutions

 

Service Description

q       QNET’s European Design Engineers can quickly assist you in identifying practical design solutions that satisfy the requirements of EU directives such as the Machinery, Noise, Pressure Equipment and ATEX Directives. This avoids expensive research into EU requirements, ensures access to the best design concepts, detailed solutions and attention to safety at the development stage to avoid design changes later. European Directives are not meant to be restrictive and with a good design approach manufacturers can be highly innovative.

Applications

q           Objective definition of risk and determination of the most cost effective safety concepts.

q           Design of safety critical hydraulic, pneumatic &                                   electrical control systems to suit different risk categories as detailed in EN954-1 using cost effective components.

q           Preparation of adequate structural calculations to confirm mechanical strength.

q           Design of safety interlocks to EN 1088.

 Design of guarding to EN 953 and EN 292.

q           Proper implementation of Electrical Installation Standard EN 60204-1.

q           Preparation on Installation, Operating and Maintenance Manuals.

q           Classification of explosion protected equipment and identification of the best methods of protection against mechanical and electrical ignition sources.

q           Design of explosion protected machinery and electrical equipment to EN50014,EN 50028, EN1127, EN13463,and the EN 50281 series of dust standards.

q           Preparation of the technical instructions and the documentation needed to explain how explosion protection has been achieved.

q           Ergonomic design of controls and indicators.

Operating hours

QNET-USA welcomes your telephone and e-mail inquiries during normal American Midwest business hours and depending on the complexity of the inquiry and amount of documentation to be transmitted aims to provide an initial response within five to ten business days from receipt of inquiry together with supporting documentation.

QNET Procedure.

1.          Confirms receipt of inquiry together with documentation, assigns project engineer and progresses inquiry.

2.          Engineer provides QNET with an estimate of hours required for acceptance by client before work commences.

3.          Organizes conference calls to discuss requirements or design issues as necessary.

4.          Initiates the design-project and expedites the exchange of documents, drawings or design calculations to ensure regular communication. Drawings are produced in AutoCAD LT 98 with dwg or dxf extensions

5.          Tracks and communicates progress and mails monthly statements reflecting the balance of remaining hours on the project.

Client Procedure.

1.          Telephone/fax or e-mail details of the design project and/or forward your supporting documentation and identification number.

2.          Provide a detailed specification of what you want to achieve.

3.          Specify the type of service required and agree the scope of the work.

4.          Examine and discuss proposals with Qnet and request any revisions needed prior to work commencing.

5.          Provide responses to questions, respond to requests for additional information or enter into discussions with our engineers.
